A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“Comfortable room and clean. The air conditioning made some random noises throughout the night. Great location and on the bus route into central Colmar but we walked as it was nice and easy. Plenty of parking, nice spacious bathroom with 2 sinks. Room had everything we needed”
“We stayed at Hotel L'Europe for 1 night during a visit to the famous Colmar Christmas Markets. Yes, the hotel is well maintained with beautiful decor, but what really blew us away was the heart of the hotel, its hidden details to surprise and delight its guests during the christmas season. The breakfast buffet, while already beautiful, had been tailored to the holidays with gingerbread, stollen and christmas jam. The foyer was beautifully decorated with a photo op and piped music along with complimentary Christmas tea. The real heartwarming detail was the little jar of christmas jam given to us at check out. That made this particular memorable and felt like a beautiful detail. The room itself was beautiful and comfortable, we would highly recommend.”
“We had a really good experience here, the staff were nice and friendly, the room was clean and they had a good breakfast for a fair price”
“This was our first night at the hotel. Overall, it has some very good aspects and others that could be improved. The hotel appears clean, although we did notice some cobwebs with spiders in reachable spots that could have been easily removed. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the arrival pleasant. The soundproofing is very good, even though the hotel was moderately busy. The shower has low water pressure, but it compensates with several useful modes. We have not tried the breakfast, as €17 per person seems overpriced. Our room is spacious and very comfortable in terms of size, making the stay pleasant. However, the bed and pillows are too soft and may need replacement. A great advantage is the large free parking area, and the location: only 7 minutes by car from Colmar (about 25 minutes on foot). The hotel is also close to the highway exit, supermarkets, and other services, which makes it very convenient for exploring the area.”
“The hotel and rooms are well-suited for families, and the free, spacious parking area is a great advantage. However, the biggest weakness of the hotel—and something that urgently needs improvement—is the breakfast experience. The breakfast area is quite small, and whenever there are corporate groups or company meetings staying at the hotel, the dining area becomes overcrowded and almost unusable for families. In addition, the breakfast offerings do not match the overall standard of the hotel. Many of the items appear carelessly prepared, and the quality of the food (with the exception of the beverages) is below expectations. The pork products often have a strong smell, which can become quite unpleasant in the small breakfast room, especially on warmer days. There are also several other issues, such as the limited variety of cheeses, the cheese section not being kept clean and well-organized, and pancakes being left uncovered and becoming cold. Overall, I can point to quite a few shortcomings regarding the breakfast service. If the hotel improves its breakfast quality and better manages the breakfast area during busy periods, the overall guest experience would be significantly better.”
